The South Downs Way is a scenic route across the South Downs National Park between
Winchester and Eastbourne. The route is often walked, cycled or driven, but never traversed
by train, until now...
This is a non-standard map in two ways. Its long, thin dimensions mean there are pinch points which make it hard for all four companies to run the full length of the Way. There is also a requirement to visit beauty spots along the way during the races. Three games were played the version 1 map and a revised map V2 map with many changes has been created based on player feedback. The V1 map really needed the leapfrog rule but the pinch point in the centre of the map has been widened so it should now play OK with or without the rule. After some deliberation, the starts are now one Winchester, one Eastbourne and one or two piggies in the middle. |
